Stoves can be easily self-installed but you need building control approval (which is easily done). You may wish to have your stove installed by an APHC or Hetas registered installer in which case you do not need building control approval. more information on stove installation.
They get hot! Unlike clay chimineas they get very hot and therefore radiate substantially more heat over a far greater area, with out cracking as many clay chimineas do during their life span. Each chiminea comes with an internal fire grate so that wood & coal can be burnt. They are completely frost proof-no need to move indoors in the winter or worry when your chiminea gets wet.
Cast iron or cast aluminium chiminea?
Cast iron chimineas are extremely durable and will provide outstanding heat output and many years of excellent service. Due to the nature of cast iron the units will rust; many people will find that this adds to their rustic appeal, however it is possible repaint them with the original or a compatible high temperature paint.
Cast aluminium will not rust, it is a very durable material and much lighter than cast iron making aluminium chimineas truly portable. Aluminium provides the same heat output as cast iron however it is slightly more expensive.
Why pick one of our cast chimineas?
Our particular chimineas are considered the finest in the world, and have sold over 250,000 units. They are the only chimineas to have been approved by coalite for use with their smokeless fuels.
