Review this product...

The top clamp is tightened around the top of the liner by two bolts and has two tails coming off it. These tails are fixed into the masonry of the chimney. This then holds the top of the liner in place, stopping it from falling down the chimney. If the chimney is too large to embed the tails of the clamp into the masonry then use stainless bars or large stobes to bridge the gap and create something for the clamp to bear on and fix to. Although the clamp may be used above the top plate it should be noted that the clamp should not bear onto the top plate alone - there should be solid masonry under the tails of the clamp. If there is not then the clamp should be used under the top plate.
